Hospice Description
Fraser Canyon Hospice Society is a non-profit organization, and has been since 1995, providing volunteer support pro-grams, complimentary therapies and patient comfort services to our Palliative clients.
They have two hospice beds, a family room, activity room and we are able to put beautiful flowers around at the Rest Area at the Fraser Canyon Hospital in Hope, BC. Overlooking the Coquihalla River and flowers are placed during the summer outside the Deck of the Fraser Canyon Hospital. Volunteers provide year-round support services and additional volunteers join us for our annual Camp Skylark for bereaved children. Their volunteers are trained, screened and supported. Donations earmarked for patient comfort services help them to furnish their hospice patient rooms, maintain our rest area, as well as provide supplies during their stay within the hospice rooms to name a few.
Donations specific to Camp Skylark provides a week-end long annual bereavement camp free of charge, for children between the ages of 7 - 12 who have lost a loved one The Camp takes place in September each year. We are a registered charity with receipt granting privileges for income tax purposes. Hospice is a home-like place where people can go near the end of life. Hospice provides support to the family coping with the loved one's illness and the subsequent grief after death.

The BC Hospice Palliative Care Association (BCHPCA) recognizes the traditional land of the First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples who have walked before us and minded the lands we now call home for time immemorial. Hospice Societies have been able to support, aid and care for many people on these same lands.

The BCHPCA Offices are located on the ancestral, traditional, and unceded lands of the Coast Salish Peoples, including the territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and TsleilWaututh Nations.
