Hospice Description
The Clearwater & District Hospice Society is a volunteer-driven, non-profit organization that provides compassionate support to individuals and families facing illness, end-of-life, and grief. Services are coordinated with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure dignity, individuality, and quality of life. The Society offers emotional and physical support, creating a trusting and empathetic environment where feelings can be shared. Volunteers, trained in active listening and communication, provide companionship and assistance in homes, hospitals, or the Hospice Room at Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital. All services are free of charge, funded by donations and community support.

The BC Hospice Palliative Care Association (BCHPCA) recognizes the traditional land of the First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples who have walked before us and minded the lands we now call home for time immemorial. Hospice Societies have been able to support, aid and care for many people on these same lands.

The BCHPCA Offices are located on the ancestral, traditional, and unceded lands of the Coast Salish Peoples, including the territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and TsleilWaututh Nations.
