In 2015, the BC Patient Safety and Quality Council introduced Change Day BC, part of a global movement that was initiated in 2013 by the National Health Services in the UK. The premise was that any individual can pledge to make one small change to improve the quality of care for patients. Since then, many countries have developed their own Change Days and over one million individuals have made pledges. In 2015, British Columbians made 7,877 pledges!
“What you pledge and how you act on it is entirely up to you. Pick something that is meaningful for you, something that you are passionate about. You may not transform health care alone, but if each of us commits to making one small change, really big things can happen….”
